Do I have to pay the deposit before I see the design?

No. You pay the deposit once you have seen and approved the stencil, not before. It is only forfeited on a no-show or a cancellation inside 48 hours.

Can I bring my own reference images?

Please do. Screenshots, old family photos, botanical references, anything that shows what you are after. The artist will tell you honestly if something will not tattoo well before you book.

Every custom tattoo at Blackbird starts at the small table in the front room, not in the chair. You bring reference images, placement ideas or just a rough concept, and Isaac or Priya sketches from there, in the style that suits the piece, fine line and blackwork with Isaac or colour realism and larger colour work with Priya. You will see a stencil before your session is booked in, and nothing goes on the machine until you have signed off on size, placement and linework.
