Blackbird is a two-room Fitzroy studio built around one process: a proper consultation before the machine or needle ever comes out, and a sealed single-use setup for every tattoo and every piercing.
- A design consultation and stencil approval before every custom tattoo, with the deposit credited to the finished piece
- Sealed single-use cartridges and needles opened in front of the client for every tattoo and piercing
- Implant-grade titanium and 14ct or 18ct gold only for new piercing jewellery
- A monthly flash day for smaller pieces with no consultation required
- Cover-up and rework assessed honestly before a design is booked

Consult to session, in five steps
Look and choose
A face-to-face consultation with the artist or piercer doing the work: reference photos and placement talked through for a tattoo, jewellery tried against the mirror for a piercing.
Approve, then lock it in
A stencil to approve before a tattoo is booked, the deposit credited in full once you do. Piercing placement is agreed on the spot and needs no deposit.
Sealed, opened in front of you
A fresh cartridge or needle, never opened until you are in the chair. Fresh gloves, a clean field, every time, for every client.
The session
A steady pace with room for breaks: twenty to thirty minutes for most piercings, one sitting to multi-session day rates for tattoo work.
Healed and checked
A written aftercare guide on the way out, and a free check once it has settled: four to six weeks for a tattoo, longer for a healing piercing.

What we do
Eight things, and the price of all of them
- Custom tattoo design consultation $100 to $150 A sit-down conversation about your idea, followed by a stencil you see and approve before any booking is confirmed.
- Small custom tattoo $220 to $550 A single-session custom piece, from palm-sized to a hand span, tattooed with a new sealed setup opened in front of you.
- Large and multi-session tattoo $900 to $2600 Half sleeves, back panels and other large-scale botanical or blackwork pieces, booked as day sessions across a few visits.
- Aftercare and healing check Free A follow-up check once your tattoo is healed, plus the written aftercare guide every client leaves with.
- Piercing consultation and jewellery fitting Free Try jewellery against your ear or feature and map out placement in the mirror before anything is pierced.
- Single piercing $65 to $120 One ear, nose or facial piercing with a sterile single-use needle, never a piercing gun.
- Curated ear styling $180 to $420 Three to six piercings placed together as one considered set, staged over one or two visits.
- Jewellery upgrade $25 Swap a healed piercing into implant-grade titanium or gold, no new piercing involved.
